Who Controls Your Attitude?

One of my favorite books to reinforce the importance of a positive attitude is Some Dogs Do by Jez Alborough. Will Sid be able to recapture his happy attitude and soar with the eagles even when everyone around him tells him that dogs do NOT fly? Check out this book and use it to complement my attitude jingle.

Here are the lyrics to my Who Controls Your Attitude? song; use the tune to Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Who controls your attitude when you're in a happy mood?
Are you wearing a big smile, will you go that extra mile?
Sharing joy with everyone helps you shine just like the sun!
I control my attitude!

Who controls your attitude when you're in a grumpy mood?
Do you find you're feeling rude? Are you whiney, do you brood?
Don't get angry, scream or pout; exercise can help you out.
I control my attitude!

Who controls your attitude when you're in a thankful mood?
Are you showing gratitude for good friends and healthy food?
And for sunshine and for rain, for your body and your brain?
I control my attitude!

Who controls your attitude when you're in a tearful mood?
Do you feel so very blue? Are you sad and lonely, too?
Share your feelings with a friend and the sadness soon will end.
I control my attitude.

Now let your students write the next verse.
Each line represents a syllable.

Who controls your attitude _ _ _ _ _ _ _?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
I control my attitude!

And don't forget - your attitude determines your altitude.
Happy Flying!

Oh my! Paragraph three is written for me.
    (Until the exercise part)
    Hmmmm.

You could sing this song...which IS very cute and has a happy tune...
Or you can go back one post and look at the rum cake again.
I need another cup of coffee to make a good decision about my attitude... but I can guess that cake will have me singing verse one!

    Happy Day, Barbara-Dear! It's FRIDAY!
    Yippppeeeeee!
