Postponing Joy

This morning as I was watering my butterfly weed and washing away the aphids in an attempt to eradicate them, I was thinking about change, about evolving and transforming. And yes, about postponing joy.

PPBF: I'm In Charge Of Celebrations

Happy Friday; today I'm celebrating the daylily. Did you know that this elegant flower only opens for one day? In the picture, you see the bloom that opened on Wednesday in between the Tuesday bloom (bottom) and its Thursday counterpart. Today, no more daylilies, just the poem that these three gifts inspired me to write.

PPBF: The Love In My Heart

Happy weekend, dear reader, and thank you for stopping by the Corner.
Though it's a little tricky, I'm hopeful that you can tell that I'm smiling behind
this mask I made (from an old t-shirt) to wear while we wait for our
CharacterStrong Be Kind masks to arrive.

How are you spending your time during this quarantine quietude?

Living Life Forward

I once heard Michael Josephson recommend that we
think about what we want people to say at our funeral,
then live life backward and do just that.
On purpose.
With intention.
Recently, I saw this quote, prompting reflection on also
living life forward.

What We Do With Our Love

Happy September; I hope August finished as strong for you
as it did for me. I had the opportunity to lead a dozen
growth sessions last month; this one in Texas City
culminated in such an epic wall display.

In Your Element

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week.

Words don't seem sufficient to thank our educators
for everything they do every day, in their element,
but here's my attempt at expressing my gratitude.

Thank you, teachers; YOU are cherished and loved.

A Dozen Ways To Share Kindness

The belief that April showers bring May flowers
has me thinking about this Karen Salmansohn invitation:

What if, when we shower people with kindness,
certain flowers (or other kind acts) would bloom?
Well, that's how the kindness boomerang works.

Being A Hope Dealer

Today I'm excited and grateful that my friend Roman Nowak
would name me as a Beacon Of Hope, especially since
I love the idea of working with intention to be a hope dealer.
