Why I like this book: This award-winning treasure caught my eye while shopping last week because of the beautifully-colorful cover art that invited me in to see what it's all about. The word maybe intrigues me, so off I went, page by page, into the superb illustrations that support Mira's artistic adventures. It helps that I'm smitten when a book switches directions, and this gorgeous gem does it twice!
I'm captivated by the intricate intersection of music, smiles, joy
and how just a bit of colorful paint can connect these
artists as they bring life to their city's canvas.
Use it as a springboard to spark a service project in your town.
Recently I've noticed muralists around Friendswood
beautifying our electrical boxes with their brushes.
This whimsy is courtesy of one of my favorites, Diane Fifer.
Neighboring League City has also enjoyed some creative artistic additions!
Where else might some paint add vibrancy to your surroundings?
Maybe it's not paint, but a statue or some other unique art,
like this sign which recently showed up near our library.
into something extra special, just like Mira's art did for hers.
Buy the hardcover book at Kohl's for only $5, then head to Susanna Hill's blog for her review of Jump for Joy along with the other Kid Lit authors' PPBF picks. Love from Friendswood, dear reader; happy April.
