Capturing Whimsy

Today I'm thinking about the concept of whimsy.
This train of thought started down the tracks with Bob Goff's devotional,
Catching Whimsy, that I've been reading aloud to my Dad ...
and then made a stop with this treasured moment.
Look at how engaged they both are as they capture whimsy.

Whether it's for my Dad, who is almost 89,
or for our son's two-year-old toddler,
whimsy is a gloriously joyful gift.
Turns out, whimsy just feels good.
Joy in the unexpected. That speaks to me.

It's freeing and fanciful,
humorous and happy,
enchanting and enlivening.

So how do we find whimsy?

For Bob Goff, it's a bouquet of balloons.
For my Dad, it's togetherness time.
For our girl, it's blowing bubbles.

And picking strawberries with Pops.
Right side up or upside down ...
playful whimsy knows no bounds.

Now it's your turn: Share your strategy, dear reader, for seizing whimsy.

What does your whimsy look like, sound like, feel like?

Thank you, Bob, for putting whimsy on our hearts.
