Happy June

John picked out this card especially for me!

Today is a special day because not only is it the first of June and the first day of summer vacation, but it's also my birthday and my anniversary! Twenty two years ago, God blessed me when I married my best friend. Friends and family celebrated with us at a matins ceremony followed by a beautiful brunch. My brother sang us a song and our guests sang Happy Birthday to me. Biggest birthday chorus ever. And today Jacob gets to play TAPS at the funeral for a Korean War veteran who won the Congressional Medal of Honor ... and never told anyone. His wife found it when she was going through his stuff. How cool is that?

This afternoon we are celebrating our son's graduation with a backyard BBQ; my dad's in town to fry up the burgers and the brats.
