My Character Cape

Look what my friend Denise made for me to wear at this year's

Yep, it's a Super Cute Cape.
For Counselor or Character.
Or Caring.
I'm going to wear it next time I present.

Today I'm super excited because I'm guest posting at CEP's blog;
click the CEP graphic above to read all about my session called
Character Is Our Super Power.

Will you be flying into DC for the Forum next month?
Don't forget early-bird registration through next Monday.
I'd love to see you there!

  1. Love the cape Barbara! A counselor friend of mine used to wear something similar when he'd do character lessons as "Captain Character." The kids loved it! -Scott

    1. Thank you, Scott! I'm thinking about ways of incorporating it into my lessons somehow ... maybe letting the kids play Captain Character and solve dilemmas wearing the cape? Would have LOVED to have seen your Captain Character in action!

  4. y name is Chelsi Hardester, and I am in the College of education at Austin Peay State University. I am taking an Instructional Technology class and we were to seek out two outside blogs and comment on them in order to show how commenting can bring community. I came across your blog on pinterest and read about how you are teaching character. I really think this is a neat idea to spark character in your students and staff.

    1. OK, THIS is an interesting project. I'm going to have to say YES, comments do create community. The synergy that we get from putting our 2 cents in by appreciating, affirming and adding on to what's been posted is AmAzInG! I've made friends from all over through my cyberspace collaborators: Tammy from Idaho, Kim from California, Barb from British Columbia, Lyn from PA (I think), Lisa from VA, Tanya from Montana, Jennifer from Canada, the list truly goes on and on. I learn as much from them as I could ever teach and we piggyback on one another's ideas to make our classrooms and schools better. I may have to blog about this ... thank you!
