A Legacy of Light

Happy 2026; has your #oneword found you yet?
If you read my Dear 2025 letter, then you saw the word adjacency written all over it, though I didn't mention it once. I didn't need to. My #oneword journey has kind of been like that; let the word find me, then find out what it has in store for me and for those people that God puts in my path.
Whether I was sitting at my table on the Starbucks patio, on the couch with my furry friends, hanging out with my husband at our favorite eatery, or spending time with the grands, adjacency was key in 2025 to unlock so many memorable moments, especially in light of the fact that we would endure so many challenging losses.
This year, legacy has found me; interestingly enough, it was another Bob Goff clip that brought my one word my way.

I made this slide while thinking about what Bob said, and I bought
these tape measures to adapt this exercise at an upcoming workshop.

If we measure our lives in CMs, how many do we have left?
And, more importantly, how will we use those CMs?

CMs? Compassionate Moments, of course.

And how will our light help others glow?

But it could also stand for Chaotic Moments?

What we do with the lesson when the stitches fall off
as we knit our legacy of light with intention matters.

So, as my scooter rolls me into 2026, the year I turn 65 and feel every bit of that time, I'm on the lookout for ways that I can leave a legacy of light for and in people as I watch and learn how they do that for others and for me.

And guess what? I've already stumbled on the perfect mix-up holiday song to complement the legacy of light I'm going for; enJOY Glow by MOONZz.

May the light in us always ignite the glow in others.
