Ahoy Mateys

OK, so it was great fun being a pirate today as we celebrated
saying no to bad behavior and yes to healthy habits!

After one of my fifth graders read my Pirate sign -
The floggings will continue until morale improves, mateys!
he said, "I'm happy, I'm happy!"

Our Administrative Team looks professional, don't ya think?

But the best part? Our first-grade team wove the theme into their lesson plan by asking students during Writer's Workshop to tell about a time when the new kid in class was a pirate.

The character came caught Harper in my office
as she read her essay to my toucan Rainbow and me:

It was so good that I asked her permission to post it here:

Who doesn't love a good character ending?
Exceptional work, Harper!

Happy Red Ribbon & Character Counts! Week.

  2. See! You just bring out the best in people--even pirates!
Loved the cutie pie's story... and it just illustrates how much you impact people--from the very young in the Texas to the not-so-young in California...
