The Grumpy Frumpy Croissant

Today I'm grateful because look what we found at Barnes & Noble

I felt so happy to see my book on their back-to-school display. Unfortunately, the moment was fleeting because of an issue with keys of a different kind. Our keys. The keys we needed to open the van and drive us home. You see, I was on the phone when we arrived at the bookstore, so John, who was driving, said that he'd go into Michael's while I finished up, then meet me at B&N. Before he shut the door, he told me to be sure to lock the car. I may have mentioned that I was on the phone, so I nodded and off he went. As the storm that was brewing picked up, I told Kaitlyn that I needed to get inside, so we hung up and I got out of the car, locked the doors, and ran into the store, where John and I met to do some browsing. After I showed him the display, he asked for the keys.

Well, why would I have them since he was driving, I wondered to myself. Those keys locked inside our van were about to unlock a two-hour window for us to connect as we watched the storms simmer down outside and tried to keep the inner storms from overtaking us. We waited a long time for roadside assistance that never showed up. At around 10 pm, thankfully Jordan, the locksmith who came out, was super compassionate and had us on our way in no time. The ironic connection with the keys is not lost on me and I'm pretty sure that we'll be able to laugh about it one day.

Speaking of a misunderstanding, on to today's book rec.

Did you know that even your breakfast items can wake up on the wrong side of the bed? We've climbed on board the Blog Tour for this tasty new treasure from Mona K to learn more about her cute creation.

Not only is croissant not happy, but he's taking his
uncomfortable emotions out on the other items on the plate.
Will that be where he learns to replace his hurtful behaviors
with some healthier habits for expressing those hard emotions?

Here's my favorite part, the recipe for croissants, mostly because
I believe that baking is such a great decompressor for when
emotions get overheated and you need a safe place to process.

Check out this adorable nugget for your littlest learners, then take the tour to see what these other bloggers thought about this feisty story.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm still processing what happened last night
so I'm going to start coloring the pages in the back of the book.

Deep, cleansing breath in ... exhale twice as long ... 😌
