Baby On Board

Today I've got a newborn baby on my brain.
So some quick thoughts before I launch to spend some time with our new grandson. My daughter put this sign on her new car before he was born, and it has me wondering if it makes a difference.

Do people drive more carefully around her?
It's a bit like the Driver In Training sign.
Are we more cautious around that car?

So let's take that a bit further.

Would it change someone's compassion toward us if we shared
our personal struggles on our car signage? On a t-shirt? On a tattoo?

Grieving Widow on board.
Feeling Lost Lately.
Missing My Mom.

What about our celebrations?

Celebrating 35 years together.
Finally achieved that promotion.
Made cancer history.
(OK, I borrowed that one from the airport)

Anyway, what if?

Would it make us kinder to step into one another's stories?

Would it at least open the door to empathy?

And might it be less daunting to share this stuff in writing?

What are your thoughts about a Baby On Board sign?

It definitely makes me curious. And happy. And prayerful.

And what would your sign say, dear reader?
And how do you predict it could make a difference?

Gotta get going for now because there's a
baby boy waiting for his Grammy and Pops.
