Emily, I've sent you a message on Facebook; congratulations and
 happy shopping.

Today's inspirational song, chosen on the heels of our country's birthday, doesn't have ANY words, but you are in for a treat nonetheless. I can hardly get through this march without the floodgates of my heart swelling with pride (and my eyes filling with tears!) for these high school musicians who've earned these chairs in this 4A TMEA All-State Symphonic Band. Thirteen of them are from Friendswood High School, where you'll find a banner with that Aristotle quote prominently displayed in the band hall.

Countless hours of practice and performance coupled with their passion for music brought these teens together for one glorious concert in San Antonio a few years back. Listen all the way to the end; you will NOT believe how fast the notes fly out of these kids' instruments. Our future looks bright with students who have made excellence a habit and have cultivated this kind of discipline and dedication leading the way!

  1. What a great Aristotle quote. I believe my friend, a high school band director, quoted that to me once. It's something we all, whether musicians or not, should tuck in our hearts. Thanks again for sharing. (Those notes were flying!)
